Volunteer Opportunties

Walker's Point Center for the Arts is always looking for dedicated and creative interns and volunteers. Individuals of all talents are needed right now on an ongoing basis. This is a splendid opportunity to become an integral part of Milwaukee's arts community. The work environment is challenging, high-energy and gratifying.

Areas of Opportunity

Arts Education

We need volunteers of all ages for our "Hands On" and "Afternoons with Art" afterschool classes. A chance to work with local performers and artists and directly with children in positive and meaningful way.

Public Relations

Write press releases, contact media regarding events, develop print materials.

Curatorial/Art History

Correspond with artists, assist with installation of art exhibits constructed from a variety of media. Assist with performances-especially in technical areas such as audio, video, and photography.

Fund Raising

Research and assist in the preparation of grant proposals, maintain correspondence with funders, perform business and fund development.

General Arts Administration
Maintain calendar of events, write reports and thank you letters to donors. Strong writing skills are necessary for grant writing and public relations positions. Word processing experience preferable but not necessary. Spanish fluency helpful for education area, but is not necessary. Hours are flexible, but dependability is a must!
